I often find that i get through one phase in motherhood and feel as if we are cruising along without a bump in the road - then almost instantly a pothole appears and BAM! We have a flat tire, a new learning and growing experience. With every phase comes unforgettable moments. Moments of happiness, new milestones that have been reached and feelings of accomplishment and fulfillment. There are also many challenging moments that try our patience, tiring days where we feel like walking "mombies" and periods of time were we discover limits we never knew we had. My own mother and I have had many long talks about life as mom. My mom is always so reassuring and such a great sounding board, she said something to me a while back that has continued to stick ith me through the more trying times: "Lindsey your boys are young, they require so much of you and you are giving all you have to them. You are in the trenches right now, but the trenches change you, change you into a stronger more resilient mom. You won't be able to know or anticipate everything, you just adapt to life as it comes." It was in this moment that I was reminded that we don't always need to 'know' everything as mothers, we can't always know or anticipate what's coming next and on this journey we are here to learn and change as we grow together. One thing is constant... CHANGE. There are great days and there are tough days, but through change and challenge we discover our strength, develop our relationships deeper ans learn and adapt to grow together as a stronger and more loving family unit. So, wherever you are, whatever your day was like, just know that you're doing a great job momma.
