To make your own homemade pizza crust you will need the following ingredients:
-1 TBSP Dry Active Yeast
-1 cup warm water
-2 1/2 cups whole wheat and unbleached flour (combined)
-1/2 TBSP (or less) sea salt
-1/2 TBSP raw sugar
-Corn meal for pan
Dissolve the yeast into the warm water, then add the sugar. Let this mixture sit for 10 minutes (you will see little bubbles begin to form). Slowly add the rest of the ingredients. When the dough begins to stiffen, begin kneading the dough with your hands for about 2 minutes. Cover the bowl with a damp dish towel and let the dough rise for 1-2 hours.
When the dough is ready to be rolled, preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Sprinkle your clean surface with flour and roll your dough into a large circle. Depending on the thickness of crust you like, you will want to roll your crust as thin as your liking. To prevent sticking, generously sprinkle your pan with cornmeal. Spread your sauce, cheese and toppings on your pizza and place in the oven to bake for 9-5 minutes depending on the crust thickness.
